***SRB – Skived & Roller Burnished – is the name given to the burnished and honed tube technique.
ADVANTAGES OF SRB HONED TUBES OVER THE CLASSICAL METHOD
- With the use of the skiving and roller burnishing technique, a consistent and smooth surface is achieved in the inner diameter and time is saved in this simultaneous process.
- A level of surface smoothness that cannot be achieved in classical honing is achieved and pipes with increased rigidity and high abrasion resistance are produced.
- Tubes that cannot be processed through classical honing due to their length can be processed using this technique.
- Seals in the cylinder operate with higher performance compared to traditional honing in terms of smoothness and faultless surface tolerance, therefore being subjected to much less abrasion and offering long-lasting impermeability.
